The Interior Design Show 2015 – Our Favourite Booths
It’s always a fun time visiting the annual Interior Design Show, and this year it was true to form. Familiar brands with fantastic new collections, and emerging designers with fresh new ideas… the IDS is a great way for us to source vendors and see forecasted trends in action.
Below are some of the booths whose product that we found particularly impressive.
CeasarStone
We are always using CeasarStone for our renos; great product but we would never have guessed how they would choose to display it! A fabulous swing set installation with the seats as different slabs of their quartz samples. Genius idea, and a hit with the kids!

Davina Nathan Design
In the artisan section, we came across Davina’s work. Colourful, fun textiles that we thought would be fantastic for kid’s rooms. Most of them have an animal theme and can be made into pillows, artwork, or simply fabric yardage.

Farrow and Ball
One of our favourite paint-makers, but what really caught our eye was their selection of painted wallpapers.

IKEA
With a preview to their new pre-fab kitchen system launching in February, we fell in love. The collection of interchangeable pieces has a seriously custom look. From extra wide 6 drawer units to the gold hardware, their booth featured three stunning and completely different kitchen looks: English Eclectic (complete with ladder!), an ultra-modern high gloss look (coloured kitchens are making a comeback), and our favourite, the charcoal and gold kitchen accessorized with hundreds of baguettes and an antique bicycle hanging above the island. Well done, Ikea!
Laura Langford
We chatted with Laura for a while, she was eager to explain the process in which she created these made-to-order pieces. Simple and striking, her designs were as beautiful as they were comfortable!

Lightmakers
Love at first light. Created in Toronto, Lightmakers makes all types of lighting that are completely unique, using a lot of blacks, golds, and brass, which makes us adore them even more!
Lint and Honey
Founded by a Toronto born designer of just really cute prints and home things. Great for gifts!
AM Studio
Lighting like you’ve never seen! Interesting commercial and residential applications, we thought the flower chandelier would be lovely for a powder room.
Oeno Gallery
An art gallery based out of Prince Edward County, their collection of art was a treat… beautiful works from purely abstract to realism.
Resource Furniture
Your, well, ‘resource’ for great space saving solutions. Murphy beds are their specialty, with lots of options to create multi-functional workspaces as well. See our favourite sales rep, Seamus, to help figure out how to get the most out of your workspace.
Cut and Fold
Designed by architects, Cut and Fold has a flat-pack sensibility with beautiful origami-like design. We especially loved their occasional chairs and lighting solutions.
Montauk Sofa
This was a fun booth. We’re used to Montauk being very monotone- natural linens, distressed leathers, wood, concrete. This booth was a blue tartan explosion… and of course we posed with the cutout board!
