Couldn't see the poll but had to write to say YES, 2-4pm is a terrible time! Many house shoppers are parents of babies or young children and guess what 2-4pm is - prime nap time. When we were looking for a house we would wake our daughter up at 3:30 and rush like maniacs to the open house, often arriving to find an agent who was shutting things down and not interested in hanging on for an extra 10 minutes (who can blame them, it's their weekend too). Anyway, would LOVE to see a change in this for all the other home buyers with kids out there!

Just wanted to make everyone aware of some of the personal tax cuts that are part of the HST tax package.

The HST is part of this comprehensive tax package that will see 93 per cent of Ontarians receive personal income tax cut. With these cuts Ontario now has the lowest provincial tax rate in Canada on the first $37,106 of taxable income. In fact, 90,000 low-income Ontarians will no longer have to pay Personal Income Tax.

To help families we have introduced a permanent $260 Sales Tax Credit for low- and middle-income adults, children and seniors. In total $4.2 billion in transition payments will be delivered to help Ontarians adjust to the Harmonized Sales Tax. It is important to remember that every $100 in tax relief is equivalent to the 8% tax on $1250 in newly taxed items.

Ontario is exempting children’s clothing and footwear, infant and child care seats, diapers, books, food under $4, newspapers, and feminine hygiene products, from the provincial portion of the HST.

Anyone moving a small load over a long distance could consider load sharing to reduce their costs.

We are not discussing the larger national companies whose niche in the market is certainly 'expensive' (and whose branded image may or may not live up to customer's expectations). Neither are we talking about whole residences, or expensive, specialist items or complicated jobs.
We are talking about jobs which are small and simple, and which will not threaten a delivery time schedule:- Unexpected complications are the hidden cost and expense of small removals. These jobs may include a two man removal crew, but if the customer wishes to help out, thereby reducing the labour cost, so much the better.

There are two types of move for which load sharing can be an option.

1) Often people have single items to be moved with no particular urgency - maybe they have been given a piano or need to swap furniture between houses. There are plenty of removal companies who are continually building up lists of these time flexible jobs, so they can create an efficient delivery route.

The problem has always been that these enquiries were uncoordinated, and it used to be a matter of luck as to whether a customer could find a remover able to offer either a firm date or a price. student-movers-forum.com offers this service.

http://www.wolfehousebuildingmovers.com/
